Our first week of district matchups out here in North Texas did NOT disappoint.
We had Allen take down Prosper handedly. Southlake Carroll pulled out a three-score win over Keller Central. Duncanville suffered another loss to district rival North Crowley in a very physical game. Waxahachie handled Lake Ridge in a classic homecoming blowout.
Aledo, Coppell, Timberview, and Martin all saw blowout wins in their favor, along with much, much more.
Now, Week 2 of district play is here, and the season is rapidly transitioning into its most defining phase.
This week, we'll see the city of Crowley come together for their yearly face-off. Frisco Lone Star goes up against Melissa. Allen looks for another dominant showing against Princeton. Waxahachie travels to Dallas to take on Skyline, while Rockwall looks to keep things rolling against a struggling North Forney team.
Martin and Aledo meet west of Fort Worth after both securing 40+ point wins in the previous week. Prosper takes on McKinney. And, of course, we get four Mansfield schools going head-to-head, with Mansfield taking on Lake Ridge and Summit facing Legacy.
There are a LOT of big games on the schedule this week.

We're definitely getting better at picking the winners, but those score margins can still use some serious work.

And just like that, we're officially getting deeper into district play.
At this point in the season, every game matters a little more. District standings are starting to take shape, playoff spots are becoming more important, and teams are running out of room for mistakes.
There are plenty of games this week that could completely change the way their respective districts look moving forward.
Will North Crowley dominate Crowley again? Can Martin keep things rolling against Aledo? Will North Forney bounce back against Rockwall? And which Mansfield school comes out on top in this week's matchups?
